The Malt Lane Whiskey Bar which is part of the Folkhouse Kinsale and run by the wonderful Conor Ryan has been awarded the Irish Whiskey Bar of the Year Award for 2017 by the Irish Whiskey Trail.
Conor is the real engine behind this bar. He is passionate about whiskey and whiskey innovation and his specially constructed Whiskey Bar the Malt Lane is visible and tangible proof of his passion and enthusiasm. The Malt Lane Whiskey Bar which is adjacent to the larger Folk House Bar, is beautifully styled and furnished in an old world Edwardian style with hints of Spanish influence perfectly accenting the over all theme.
The whiskey range is one of the very best in Ireland and has been been skilfully crafted and assembled by Conor himself. He has also built an incredible range of other whiskeys, rums and unusual spirits and can tell you a story about every single one.
Conor originally trained as a Chef and it was this profession that first brought him to the Gourmet town of Kinsale from his native Waterford. His Chef’s flair for innovation is perfectly expressed through a unique range of home made and home infused whiskeys and whiskey chocolates.
Whiskey tasting boards are available from the bar if you feel like tasting a few whiskeys or whiskies side by side and one of Conor’s team is always happy to advise, inform and assist you.
Malt Lane offer tutored whiskey tastings for groups of 6 or more and will custom design a whiskey tasting for your group depending on the groups level of experience with whiskey and the budget available. And of course all of this is offered in atmosphere of old world charm and sophistication.
The Malt lane Kinsale is without doubt the very best Whiskey Bar in Ireland and is a credit to Conor and his staff. Kinsale is well known as the Gourmet Capital and Food Tourism Capital of Ireland. Kinsale can thank people of Conor’s talent, commitment and style for maintaining this well deserved international reputation.
