Kilbeggan 1946 is a limited release of what may well be the very last cask of original Kilbeggan whiskey which was distilled and laid down at the old distillery in 1946. Only 480 individually numbered bottles were produced in 1980 by the Uisce Beatha Company London, making this a very affordable and collectable piece of Irish Whiskey history.
I have not tasted this very rare 1946 expression my self, however I have spoken to some older friends from the Tullamore and Kilbeggan area who remember it as as an exceptionally smooth and polished whiskey. We’d love to hear about and share tasting notes here if you have been lucky enough to sample the current Kilbeggan 1946.

We are one of the few Irish Whiskey websites carrying a listing for the last of these very rare and very special pieces of Irish Midlands and Irish Whiskey history. A bottle of Kilbeggan 1946 would be money well spent by the right person.
I’ve awarded Kilbeggan 1946 a provisional Five Pooka Irish Whiskey Classification based on it’s historical importance alone.
